The Nauti Professor
Rebecca grew up in Little Rock, AR, as the oldest of three
children and the only girl. She is a child of the 1980s, when music was
loud, hair was big, and everyone was happy. She graduated with a BA in
English in 1992 and an MA in English literature in 1994. She recently
completed her dream of becoming a doctor when she completed her
dissertation in 2012 and earned an EdD in curriculum and instruction.
She likes margaritas and dancing. The two seem to go together
very well. She loves music of all kinds, but her favorite band of all time
is Led Zeppelin. She also loves the blues and fancies herself a blues
musician trapped in an English professor’s body.
An Aries with the moon in Sagittarius, Rebecca values
honesty, fairness, and the freedom to express oneself without boundaries.
She also loves a good bawdy joke. She believes that life is a journey that
does not last nearly as long as it should.
Her greatest passions are intellectual development and pushing others to find
what makes their heart sing. Her goals are to fund this merry adventure by teaching and supporting education online and by finishing at least one of the books she has started writing.
Her favorite things are making her children laugh and
watching her husband

Captain Joe
Captain Joe was
born in Oklahoma City but grew up in Arkansas and North East Texas. He has
always been one to find comfort and entertainment in doing things outdoors. He
is the older of two sons, and his family still lives in Texas. Joe loves to
fish and learned from his father and many friends how to catch almost any
freshwater fish alive. He has spent the last 3 or 4 years since moving to San
Antonio learning how to saltwater fish. Joe and the Professor have two awesome
kayaks that they use to fish the shorelines and backwaters of the Gulf of
Mexico.
Joe hopes that
our posts will tell directly or indirectly not only the story of how we are
accomplishing our goals, but also why we are attempting them the first place.
Captain Joe is
a Taurus with a moon in Virgo, making him an Earth/Earth. Talk about a grounded
personality! :) A good teacher and student with a discriminating intellect (it
says so in a book!), Joe is skillful and an artisan. He is a perennial student
of life who charts his future with a clear, rational (he likes that word better
than obsessive compulsive) grasp of what tasks are necessary to accomplish his
quest and enjoy the good things in life. He aspires to a life of
simplicity, usefulness, and harmony.
His favorite
things are making the Professor happy. He is so very lucky at how easy a task
that seems to be. He also thoroughly enjoys good wine, music, and conversation.
It is rewarding to figure out easier ways to accomplish tasks. Part of the
appeal of sailing to someone wired like Joe is that sailors, from the very first
human who raised some cloth over a log, are always trying to improve either
their boat or their skills.
