A Boat

We bought our first boat. The goal was to get something small that we could sail nearby. We wanted something that we could learn on and discover if we were fit for this life change. Our first boat is an 1978 S2. The original name was Water Dancer II, but the W was gone. We have since removed all letters and are working on renaming the boat.

We sold our boat a few weeks ago. It will be strange to read these posts about our boat knowing ahead of time that she is already a part of our history. We think it is important though for us to fill this part of our story in for our future readers so that they can get a more clear picture of the learning experiences the last 2 years have given us.

Much has changed over the last two years since we bought our first sailboat. We could not have asked for a more ideal experience. From the first day on the lake we met fellow sailors and power boaters who welcomed us into their water group and invited us to join their yacht club.  (HCYC) We spent almost every weekend at the lake with our new friends over the past couple of years. There were days filled with racing in monthly regattas or just leisurely sailing around our wonderful Canyon Lake.

It was those people and experiences that encouraged us to keep working toward our dream.
